The canal waters rippled quietly up to the edge of what was the antithesis of the glut of taverns that peppered the dingy streets of Rhy'Din. The lazy covered gondola ferried those with reservations past fabulous villas and the Duchess' palazzo. Marble works of art stood sentry in alcoves and on pedestals.  Swans circled in a nearby fountain, magnolia scented the air, and a brilliantly plumed peacock could often be seen strutting along the promenade.

The moon elves had built the stone building and curved piazza to withstand the test of time, time which had given it all a classic patina, and sent vines of spray roses climbing up the latticework. A few fabric draped tables lingered out there with a cityscape view, each coming standard with a bottle of wine and roses to match those in the great urns that lined the rail.

Inside, a wine cellar motif took over the main dining area in its curved ceilings and room divides. Fine dark woods, brass trims, stained glass and stone work all made for an elegant and intimate setting. The table settings became more elaborate with heavier cloth coverings,  candles, arranged centerpieces and greenery. Premium vintages, liqueurs, cigars, and the finest food drew many of the locals fresh from seeing the nearby symphony or play.  Nobles and office holders mingled with artisans and Nethyrin merchants  in a salon setting. Drinks flowed freely, as did quiet conversations and business deals.

Private dining rooms were available, but by screened reservation only. They carried the cellar motif well, as they had once housed great kegs of elven wine.
